This route begins at the abundant ravines of Menites, where a small detour takes us to the springs. Here we start the hiking via an excellent footpath leading through the settlements of Messaria, the old Byzantine center of the island. With our destination being the Panachrantou Monastery (alt.500m), a living historical and architectural monument (wooden carved templon 18th c, library etc), we follow the paved footpath, crossing the legendary arched bridge of Stichiomeni (The Haunted) and walk through the abandoned village of Petrias, a monument of Andros folk architecture. On arrival to the monastery the hospitable monk Father- Evdokimos will guide us around and a light meal will be offered in the dining room. After a short rest we will descend again, this time heading first to Fallika and then to the "Cave Foros" in the village of Aladinou. The cave was first explored in 1937 by the speleologist John Petroxeilos. The length of the cave reaches 57m and the path length is about 200m, covering 580 sq.m. .Via the same path we will reach the main road to end our day trip.
